Coin Collection

The children's classes will be collecting coins to benefit the Romanian children's Christmas. Collection cans will be in the children's elementary classrooms in September and October. Collection cans are also available in the lobby to use at home. Please help your child contribute to this worthy cause.

Areawide Youth Devotional

Area wide devotional at Southside in Shelbyville Sunday evening, September 23, 2007. Vans will leave the building at 5:20 and return at 9:00 PM.

Fall Golf Outing

The annual Men's fall golf outing will be held at the Goosepond Golf Colony course in Scottsboro, AL, on October 16, 2007. Golfers are to meet at the Decherd Ascent Back parking lot at 9:15 a.m. A meal in Scottsboro will follow the golfing activities. For more information contact, Don Midgett or Dennis Akers.

Katrina Relief Trip

Another Katrina relief trip to Pearlington, Mississippi is being planned for October 17-21, (the second week of the school break). The church building in Pearlington has been completed and we will be working in the community, (probably in construction activities), and conducting the Sunday morning worship service. If you would like to go or need additional information see Steve Baker or Darrell Gibson.

Hallelujah Hoe Down ... A Family Event

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, October 31^st.  The children's ministry will be holding Hallelujah Hoe Down from 5 to 7 PM.  This is going to be a community outreach event this year.  It will include a hotdog dinner and games and crafts.  The evening will conclude with trunk or treating from 6:30 to 7 PM.  Volunteers are needed to help with this event in many ways including help with games, crafts, food, clean up, trunk or treat autos, etc.  If you would like to help with the planning, contact Mark or Melissa Rigney.  Addional information will be available closer to event time.

Children's News - Elementary Children's Play

The elementary children are invited to participate in an upcoming play about Jesus' birth.  Parents are asked to come with their child(ren) to the first meeting on September 26^th at 6:45 in the elementary wing where parts will be explained and chosen.  Practices will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8 PM.  A Bible class will be available for students that do not wish to participate.  The play will be performed on December 2^nd.  Appropriate parts are available for all levels of participation, and singing will be a big part of the play.  If you have additional questions, please call Melissa Rigney.

Pancake Breakfast

There will be a pancake breakfast at Applebees Saturday, September 15^th from 7:30 to 9:30 AM for Trinity Day Care.

New Ministry Area

In April, a new ministry area (Member Services) was added to the Family Care area with the purpose being to help members of the Cedar Lane family who need assistance.  We feel that there are probably many who can use this service, but the response has been minimal to date.  If you have any items for which you need assistance, you are urged to contact Mike Northcutt, Willie Kimzey or Darrell Gibson as soon as possible.  A workday will be planned in September or October if enough jobs are identified.

Golden Agers

Reservations have been made to see the play Carousel at the Cumberland County Playhouse on Tuesday, October 2^nd.  If you would like to go, see Darrell Gibson by September 12^th.
