"The Coming of A King"
Children's Play
Sunday, Dec. 2nd
6:00 p.m.

35 children have been involved to tell us the story of the coming of the Messiah. This is one of the annual highlights of our church family. Great numbers of guests (relatives and friends) will be here. Come and enjoy the story of Jesus through the eyes of children. You will be blessed!

Children's Ministry Bible Memory Challenge

"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, O Lord; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word" (Psalm 119:9-16).

The children's ministry offers a program designed to help our young ones in grades K-5 "hide His word" in their hearts. This program is called the Bible Memory Challenge and it runs from January through October each year. Each month the children must memorize passages from scripture or important Bible facts. Once they complete all ten months, they finish the challenge for that grade level, win a prize, and receive recognition for a job well done. Each successive grade level increases in difficulty. Children who complete all six grade levels are designated a "Grand Champion" and earn a special award. Several children have successfully completed their challenges this year and we are so very proud of their hard work and dedication to scripture memorization. These children are: Michaela Pierce, Laura Baker, Ragan Baker, Clay Burnett, Amanda Farmer, Annalea Smith and Linley Hart. In addition we had one Grand Champion this year: Grant Rigney!!

Congratulations to all of these children and may they (and all of us) continue to strive to follow the words of the psalmist when he wrote, "I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word."

CHRISTMAS IN ROMANIA

Dear Friends, It is that time again to think about and plan to help us have a Merry Christmas for many children in Bucharest. I need your help, as we would like again this year to help 4,000 or more children receive a Christmas Care Package. This is the only package that many of them receive. The children look forward to getting such a nice gift. A few of you have already given but I am asking that others send a check to Christian Relief Fund, Box 19670, Amarillo, TX 79114-1670 or to Cedar Lane Church of Christ, 1200 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, TN 37388 to help in buying the needed items. Thank you for considering this request for help. I pray that God will direct you and bless you in your decision to help some children have a good Christmas. I will shop wisely and give lovingly for you. I am grateful for any and all help: money, prayers, supplies donated and for each kind thought and word for this effort. Love in Christ, Imogene
