CHRISTMAS IN ROMANIA

Dear Friends, It is that time again to think about and plan to help us have a Merry Christmas for many children in Bucharest.  I need your help, as we would like again this year to help 4,000 or more children receive a Christmas Care Package.  This is the only package that many of them receive. The children look forward to getting such a nice gift.   A few of you have already given but I am asking that others send a check to Christian Relief Fund, Box 19670, Amarillo, TX 79114-1670 or to Cedar Lane Church of Christ, 1200 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, TN 37388 to help in buying the needed items. CHILDREN'S NEWS

Please plan to attend the upcoming production of "The Coming of a King" on Sunday, December 2 at 6:00.  Thirty-five of our Cedar Lane children have worked very hard for several weeks to prepare for this special evening.  It is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and to supprt our children.

MISSIONARY CHRISTMAS

It's that time of the year again, when we want to give to our missionary families for Christmas.  Please give check or cash (checks made out to Cedar Lane) and earmarked "for missionary Xmas" to Sidney Condra or Laine Eaves before December 10th.

BECOME AN UPWARD TEAM COACH

We now have 190 children signed up to play Upwards! WE NEED COACHES ! ! !  If you can help coach a team please join us. You would only have to have one practice and one game per week. See Gerald Burnett for more info.

JOIN THE UPWARD PRAYER TEAM

We are looking for 100 dedicated prayer warriors who will join together for 100 days of prayer for Cedar Lane's Upward Basketball Ministry.  Ideally we need 10 prayer captains who will recruit nine prayer partners.  The 100 days of prayer will begin on Friday, November 23 and continue throughout the Upward season, concluding on March 1st.  Prayerfully consider participating in the Upward 100 Days of Prayer.  Details on Sunday.  David Mitchell, Upward Prayer Team Coordinator

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Please join us in celebrating 50 years of marriage for our parents, Alton and Betty Hutcheson, November 24, 2007 - 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the church of Christ at Cedar Lane.  NO GIFTS PLEASE, your presence will be greatly appreciated.

BENEVOLENT REQUESTS

1)      A member of our congregation has asked that we try to find a low cost washer and dryer for her family.

2)      Our congregation also has been asked for assistance in finding a stove, a refrigerator, and some firewood.  This request is from a family in the community.

CEDAR LANE YOUTH THANKSGIVING FOOD BOXES

Each year we provide 40 families with a Thanksgiving Dinner.  As in the past we need your help.  Please start bringing the following items to place in the boxes.  We will deliver the food boxes on Monday, November 19^th at 5:30 p.m.  Items to bring: green beans, corn, yams, fruit, boxes of Mac-n-Cheese, bread mix, cake mix, stuffing, drink mix (tea or Kool-Aid) or $10 for a turkey.

 

LEAFMAN

Leafman will be in town on Saturday, December 1.  If you or anyone you know (Cedar Lane member or not) can use the services of Leafman and his crew, let Mike Northcutt, Willie Kimzey or Darrell Gibson know. Volunteer rakers should meet at the building by 8:30 a.m.

 

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY CLASSES BEGIN

Financial Peace University (FPU) classes will be held at Cedar Lane again this year.  The first class will begin Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 7:00 in room 50.  There are thirteen weekly classes in all.  FPU teaches people how to get out of debt, save money, and become better stewards for the Lord.  Contact Don Midgett, FPU coordinator, for more information.

High School Small Group Hosts Needed

If you would like to host a High School Small Group please let Gary Johnson know. We are now booking for November and December 2007 for the 1st and 3rd Sunday nights.

Children's Church

We are looking for teachers for one-month blocks for children's church for the upcoming year. If you would like to teach or assist, please see Melissa Rigney.

Elementary Teacher Needed
